At the beginning of December last year, my family and I spent a memorable week on holiday at a villa in Diani. The holiday home, also known as Angara House, is made up of the main villa where the living room, dining area, kitchen, and two main bedrooms are. Adjoining it is a smaller villa housing three bedrooms – one of which was my bedroom for the duration of the stay. There are two double bedrooms downstairs and a third one located in the landing area upstairs. It leads to a veranda where you can sit and enjoy some quiet time away from the hustle and bustle of the main house.
Angara House is only about a five-minute walk away from the Diani Beach Hospital and a fifteen-minute walk from Diani Beach itself. The beach was deserted when we went there, as most people usually wait until the Christmas season to visit the area. If you’re not big on crowds, this is probably a good time for you to plan your stay here. Aside from one afternoon at the beach, we spent most of our time at the villa either swimming, playing board games, or reading books (both of which are provided by the host and some of which we brought with us), and just enjoying each other’s company in general. We carried our own portable speakers, which came in handy as we were able to connect them to the sockets at the bar and listen to our favourite songs during the day. There are two dogs on the property, Fisi and Bendy. They are mainly there to chase the monkeys away. Otherwise, they are harmless and mostly keep to themselves. All in all, it was a much-needed break for all of us and I can’t recommend both Angara House and a December holiday on the Kenyan Coast enough. A huge thank you to our host, who made sure we had everything we needed and was always easy to reach via phone. And to the Angara staff members, who made our holiday that much more comfortable and relaxing. I’ve included a video giving you a tour of the villa, just in case you’re thinking of renting out one on the Kenyan Coast for your next holiday. Stay Safe & Happy Travels! 😊 - ✗O✗O.
