I’d never heard of a capsule hotel until I had to live in one!
It was autumn, 2018. I was working at a startup in Amsterdam at the time, and I desperately needed accommodation. CityHub Hotel in Rotterdam turned out to be the best option. It’s a modern capsule hotel located on a vibrant street called Witte de Withstraat, about 15 minutes from the train station.
Although I was reluctant to stay – let alone live – here at first, I ended up enjoying my stay here and even came to appreciate how convenient a place it was to live in.
Although it’s considered to be a hybrid of a hotel and a hostel due to its shared facilities, I think it leans more towards the “hotel” category, given the privacy in the rooms (hubs), the large bed that can sleep two people, the option of having breakfast brought to you each morning, as well as a laundry service that can have your clothes delivered to you in 24 hours!
Seeing as the summer holidays are here, I thought it was a good time to film a vlog sharing with you my experience living there for two months as well as some reasons why you might want to consider staying there - or at another capsule hotel - yourself. I also included a slideshow of some pictures I took at CityHub Hotel while I was staying there.
P.S. If you still have any questions regarding the hotel after watching the vlog, please leave me a comment below and I’ll get back to you ASAP.
