A few weeks ago, my friend Lindsey and I visited the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (SWT) Orphanage in Nairobi.
The SWT is best known for its orphan elephant rescue missions in Kenya. 🐘After rescuing these young orphaned elephants from the wild, the Trust takes them through a rehabilitation process; and when they are ready, the elephants are released back into the wild.
Aside from elephants, SWT also rescues rhinos and other wild species. The Trust opens its doors to visitors every day from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm (except on Christmas Day). During this time, one of the keepers gives an educational talk about the work the Trust does and also shares information about how visitors can adopt an elephant.
