Birthday Dinner At Lucca italian Restaurant

I've never been one to celebrate my birthday for more than one or two days. However, this time round it seemed only right to do so, having finally reached the 3rd floor!😄​🎊🎉

Seeing as we'd enjoyed a hearty meal at Lucca Restaurant during our stay at Villa Rosa Kempinski, Nairobi - and had later had a mouth-watering pizza from there as well - it seemed only right for us to go back and try their buffet as well.

Every Friday evening, Lucca Restaurant has a buffet-style meal on offer to its guests. This buffet is made up of a range of meats, including prawns, grilled chicken, fish fillet, and kebab - just to name a few.
My siblings and I decided to dine there on the last Friday of February. On the evening in question, we were already at their premises, so all we needed to do was walk over to Lucca Restaurant  just before the buffet began. My sister, Rachel and I met my brother there and, as we were early, we had our pick of where to sit. There's the option of dining in the outer balcony facing Waiyaki way, inside the restaurant where it's nice and warm, or in the inner patio, which is where the buffet is set up. We decided to sit right next to the food.​😋

​Looking back, I'd say arriving at the restaurant early for the buffet was a good idea as we didn't feel the need to rush through our meal, but rather enjoyed it at a steady pace. We were also able to catch up with one another as we ate. Two drinks were on offer as part of the buffet - white wine and cocktails. My brother had white wine and my sister and I had cocktails.

What makes Lucca restaurant's buffet different from the ones at other restaurants is the variety of dishes on offer. We had prawns, fish fillet, kebab, grillef frankfurters, and also had the option of the usual chicken and beef. It was also nice to have a constant flow of drinks as part of the buffet while we ate. It makes it easier to wash the food down and is also more affordable compared to buffets that don't include drinks as part of the package.
If you're looking for something different from your usual buffet experience, I'd highly suggest trying the one at Lucca. Go in a group, as it will allow you to make the most of the experience as well as split the bill amongst yourselves. The drinks on offer might be different to what we had so, in case what you want isn't part of the package on the day you choose to go, carry some extra cash to buy something else.

Lastly, designate a driver in advance as you'll be drinking quite a bit, and will need someone to stay sober so that you can all get back home safely - or just plan on calling a cab.
