I've never been one to throw a huge party on my birthday. If anything, I prefer to spend it with fewer and fewer people as the years go by.
This year was no different.
I had made plans to have dinner with my friend, Paula at a restaurant called David's Burgers, and I was super excited about it! 😄
I'd previously been to a restaurant owned by the same family, and had thoroughly enjoyed the food there. So I had high hopes for the food at David's Burgers.
Finally, February the 23rd came! 🎉🎉🎁🎈 And I can't think of a better way for my birthday to have begun...
First thing in the morning, I received a stream of sweet, thoughtful messages from family and friends, and I was greeted by the most beautiful rainbow I'd ever seen - right outside my window! 😍 I always seem to have such bad luck with rainbows, lol, always catching them just as they are disappearing. But this one was so clear and visible that I had to look at it for a while to make sure that I wasn't imagining it! What a view! 🌈😃
The messages kept coming (thanks to Whatsapp and Social Media networks) up until the evening, when I started getting ready for dinner.
At around 7.30pm, Paula and I made our way to David's Burgers. We received a warm welcome from one of the waiters when we arrived, and were immediately seated at one of the tables. We ordered our drinks - a Coke for Paula and a Fanta for me - as well as taco crisps and guacamole for starters.
Afterwards, we ordered our main dishes. Paula ordered a Classic burger with French fries, and I ordered a Blue Cheese burger with French fries.
The place was so busy that they ended up serving us both the starter and the main dish at the same time!
We didn't mind though...we took our time, and savoured every single bite of our meal. 🍟🍔🍴
I can't remember ever eating a burger that big! What's more, it was even more scrumptious than I'd imagined it would be. Definitely worth the wait!
Full to bursting, we said goodbye to the friendly waiter and made our way back home, ready to call it a night.
Little did I know that there was one last surprise waiting for me: home baked cupcakes from my friend, Emerald! 😍 You know what they say: No birthday is complete without cake! 😉
All in all, if I had to describe this birthday in one sentence, I'd say it was proof to me that the little things really are the big things. ☺
Sending out lots of love to everyone who had something to do with that! 😘💌❤
As I always say, "Food is my love language!"😄 And I believe a memorable eating-out experience is worth sharing, and a good recipe is worth passing on.
