28/5/2017 2 Comments Naboth's Real Murderer. The first few weeks of May were spent preparing for finals. This involved a lot of reading and re-reading notes on different topics, hence, a lot of learning took place in these weeks.📚 Although it was a stressful period for me, it wasn't all bad as I love learning new things. 😊Therefore, even though I was happy to see the back of school when we finally closed for the summer, I was eager to continue learning...
So I started reading through the 1st book of Kings in the Bible. I've read it before, but I really wanted to go through it again; not only because I enjoy reading about the different kings who ruled Israel and how their leadership influenced Israel's history, but also because I learn so much that I can still apply in my life today from each and every one of them.

25/9/2016 2 Comments Seeing Myself Through His Eyes.I've only been in Thailand for a few weeks now, but it's safe to say that I love it here! 😃
The weather is warm and so are the people; the food is delicious as well as affordable, and the country itself is all sorts of lovely. I have always loved learning - and it's no different here. 22/4/2016 6 Comments Shifting My Focus.I was deleting old pictures from my camera the other day, when I came across this picture that I'd taken a while ago. Even though I hadn't noticed it before, it stood out to me this time round. For the first time I noticed how - without meaning to - I'd managed to capture everything in the frame out of focus except the rear-view mirror.
As I was admiring my unintentional photography skills, I couldn't help but wonder why I had never noticed that about the picture when I looked at it before - or rather why I was only noticing it now. I suspected that it had something to do with something that had been recently weighing heavily on my mind... 13/2/2016 7 Comments True Love.*I wrote this post for another blog, but in light of Valentine's Day ♥ this weekend, I felt that I should post it here, too. Hope it blesses you.😊
It surprised me when I finally realised that the world was looking for something that I’ve already found and have actually always had access to – true love. And what is true love? You might ask. Like me, you have probably heard so many definitions of true love that it feels like your head can no longer contain them all! You have tried to make sense of them, only for them to leave you even more confused than you were before. But the truth of the matter is that we have been looking for the truth in all the wrong places. The world doesn’t know what true love is; how can it know something that it has never experienced? My favourite parable in The Bible has always been the one about two sons (Matthew 21:28-32). The parable tells of how their father asked his sons to go and work in his vineyard. The first one says no, but later on he changes his mind and goes. The second son readily says that he will go, but never goes. I can remember how surprised I was when I read in verse 31 that it was actually the first son who had obeyed his father! My young mind couldn't understand how his response translated to obedience. He had blatantly told his father that he wouldn't go to the vineyard to work. But I had missed the point: in the end, he is the one who did exactly what his father had asked him to do. |
I find it easier and more effective to write down how I feel rather than to say it. Archives
